Safety & Health
We are committed to an incident-free workplace at Boise Inc. Every employee has a fundamental right to a safe place to work. A safe place to work is a workplace that we would be comfortable sending our children and grandchildren to every day.
Every facility has a safety committee made up of a cross-section of employees. In addition to regular, on-site meetings and activities, we organize safety roundtables, where representatives from across the company share best practices.
All locations measure their safety efforts and address them with specific action plans.
While we are proud of our locations that have achieved zero accidents and incidents, until the entire company reaches that goal, our safety performance is not good enough. And we believe every employee must fully participate as a leader to keep our work environment safe.
Six sites hold Star status

Encouragement and support
Thirty-one employee volunteers lead Boise's wellness program, providing coworkers with encouragement and support to make healthier lifestyle choices.
Michelle Hebner, process engineer and Wellness Champion at our Minnesota mill in says, "When people make a commitment to lifestyle changes, you definitely notice a change. It helps their well-being and happiness."
